i can't import bookmarks

I just got Firefox because I was having problems with Internet Explorer. When I first installed it and it asked me if I wanted to import bookmarks from my previous browser, I said yes. But some reason it only imported a portion of my bookmarks, I followed your instructions exactly on how to import bookmarks and the second time it's still the only installed portion of them. I have no idea what to do. As I said in my previous browser was Internet Explorer and the bookmarks are contained in : local disk C/users/(my user name)/favourites. Frankly there are a lot of them but I don't see how that should be a problem.

some time it is the duplicate of the imported ones...

I don't see how syncing would help. I tried to manualy import them but I couldn't select them.

Go to IE Export your bookmarks, IE export the bookmarks as HTML file:

Then in Firefox Import the HTML file:
