Firefox 4 is not remembering my psswords. I have checked the option.
After installing Firefox 4, my passwords are not being remembered. This has only happened with 4.
I have gone to tools, options and checked remember password, but it has not worked.
How can I fix this?

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
- Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie.
- Create an allow cookie exception (Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: Exceptions) to keep such a cookie, especially for secure websites and if cookies expire when Firefox is closed.
- Do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the "Cookies" and the "Site Preferences"
Clearing "Site Preferences" clears all exceptions for cookies, images, pop-up windows, software installation, and passwords.
- In Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode all cookies are session cookies that expire if that session is ended, so websites won't remember you.
- In Private Browsing - Use Firefox without saving history mode Firefox won't fill names and passwords automatically.
Thanks for the answer, but I went to options, privacy, butg could not find cookies. I did find an entry in security and entrered the site in question. It showed my usen name and then showed my password, but it is still not being saved when I go to the site.
To be clearer. I am using Firefox 4. I can go to options then security. Under saved passwords, I enter the site in question, and show my password which is correct. It is not saving when I log on to the site.
I could not find anything specifically for cookies either in privacy or security. Where elsse could it be?
To see all the History and Cookie settings, select:
- Firefox or Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Use custom settings for history"
- Settings for privacy, browsing history and do-not-track
Press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
I'm having a problem where Firefox keeps asking for my Amazon password, even though I tell Firefox NOT to remember this password. In Firefox options, Amazon is clearly listed as a site for which not to save passwords.
