Problem with NY Times website
Upon opening the NY Times website, page 1 flashes briefly. Then the screen locks in on a commercial which prevents further access to the paper. I cannot escape the ad.
This does not happen with Safari or Chrome.

This may be caused by the Firefox version you are using. Anyway, sounds like a compatibility bug, so please report a broken site.

You didn't mention what kind of screen lock you're encountering. Could you please take a look at -> /questions/1517702#answer-1743035 to see if you're experiencing similar issue? If that's the case, please know that we're currently working on escalating it internally.

- Please check if you have Enhanced Tracking Protection (ETP) enabled. You can do that by clicking the shield
icon at the left of the address bar.
- If ETP is enabled, try disabling it. Does the problem persist?
- If the problem is not fixed, try clearing Firefox cache. Does it help?
- If it does not help, try also clearing cookies and data for the website you experience troubles with (warning: you will be logged out on this website). Does it help?
- If it also does not help, try running Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode. Does the problem persist?
- Finally, if the problem is still not fixed, try creating a new Firefox profile. Does the problem persist there?
