Is there an alternative to the discontinued Firefox Translations add-on?

The Firefox Translations add-on has been discontinued and no longer works. As a foreign language learner, I found it very useful to open the Firefox Translations popup, enter some text, and have that text translated locally. Is there an alternative that has the same functionality?

Local translations are now included in Firefox. You don't have to install anything anymore to do it.

You can type your text on the about:translations page.

I knew that translations were now included, but I had no idea the "about:translations" page existed -- thanks a lot!

Hmm interesting that about:translations is not in the about: urls list on about:about

Firefox has had translations built in since Firefox 118.0 as to why the Firefox translations extension was discontinued in updates and maintenance. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-add-translate-feature-firefox

I found a couple relevant bug reports:

List about:translations in about:about https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1836451

Improve about:translations https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1853118

I encourage people to upvote them!
