Is there a shortcut key to move a tab to a new window?

You can see a list of all keyboard shortcuts for Firefox on the Keyboard shortcuts - Perform common Firefox tasks quickly page. As far as I know, there's no keyboard shortcut to move the current tab to a new window.

Thanks Wesley, sorry to hear there is no direct shortcut for this. As a workaround, is there a keystroke that mimics my mouse right-click on the tab that opens a tab menu? If so, then I'd type v, then w, and voila!

You can set focus to the Tab bar via "Ctrl +L" (location bar) and then press Shift+Tab until you see a focus ring around the label of the current tab. Open the context menu with the context menu button next to the right Ctrl button or press "Shift+F10", then you know how to proceed via "Move Tab -> Move to New Window"

Tab and Shift+Tab do move me around to the toolbar buttons but not to the tab

Hi Kim

You need to press Shift+Tab more than once (likely about three times) until you end up in the Tab bar as this moves the focus from group to group (within a group you can use cursor left and Right).
