firefox keeps pinning tabs

Wondering if anyone else is seeing this... But my browser keeps pinning tabs. I've seen people post about losing pinned tabs but can't find a reference to this problem. and I'm not sure how to replicate this. It just seems that all of a sudden a tab will have moved to the pin section and I can't identify the pattern

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
