Click & wait & wait & wait. Same with keyboard page down or any attempts to move around a page or using links. Sometimes arrow down works quickly for a couple of clicks and then it's wait. If you click 3 times or so it scrolls quickly to the bottom of the page. Typing characters is so slow I tend to “over-type” & then wait for backspace to work. Forget trying to highlight/select anything.

I am running Windows 10 with latest update on a 64 bit machine. And have tried all of the suggested solutions including running in Safe Mode, Refresh, and uninstall/reinstall. Nothing affects the problem.

hi, thanks for reporting this. could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information page and take a look in the Accessibility section if accessibility is set to "true" there.

if yes, can you please copy & paste this whole section into a reply in the forum and see if the following fixes the performance problem: go to the firefox menu ≡ > options > privacy & security panel and under permissions check the setting to prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser.

With the problem I had I was not able to copy/paste the whole section very easily so I went on to the fix which seems to be working. Thank you very much and sorry for the lack of information.

I downloaded the latest version of Firefox for Mac two weeks ago and found that it was painfully slow compared with earlier versions. I always keep at least one earlier version of Firefox, and solved the problem by trashing the latest version of Firefox and installing the earlier version. Problem solved!
