Can't Copy text using "CTRL + C" keyboard shortcut. CTRL + V still works, but will only paste text that I've highlighted and right click-copy-ied

Question says it all, started happening after the latest update today. I can copy stuff from other browsers using CTRL+C and from Windows, but anything highlighted and then using CTRL+C or CTRL+X will not be added to the clipboard, and upon using CTRL+V to paste, will post the previous text on the clipboard, this is NOT the case in firefox if I highlight text, and right click copy/cut and then either use right click paste or CTRL+V, in other words, I've narrowed the problem down to firefox not accepting CTRL+X/C keyboard shortcut.
