There is a white stripe about 1.5 cm thick all the way across the top of the browser window. I cannot see the menu or navigation window, or the search bar.

I am currently using windows 10 and i have tried to uninstall and then reinstall with obviously no success

Chosen solution

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

Try to rename (or delete) the xulstore.json file in the Firefox profile folder.

You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

I had a similar problem but I rebooted my computer...  :)
