Just of late, Firefox will not open, have tried to uninstall, but it tells me I have to shut Firefox but it is not open! same problem downloading new version
Wherever I find Firefox on my computer, it will not open. i cannot get beyond the icon or the file. Clicking on them gets no result. If I try to uninstall and download again, it tells me it cannot proceed in either case until I close Firefox. But it will not close. So I am totally stuck. It worked well up to about a fortnight ago.

in some cases this error at startup might also be a symptom of malware active on the pc. please do a full scan of your system with your security software already in place and/or an alternative like the free version of malwarebytes.
