Why does firesay not run on version 11
The google chrome browser has a speech to text in the search bar, I miss this feature so bad that I'm about to go back.

Have you checked out any other speech-to-text add-ons? this one came up in a search: Text to Voice :: Add-ons for Firefox (I haven't tried it myself).
I think you probably can go back to Firefox 3.6.28 if you like. However, it will only get security updates for another month or so.
Please make a backup of your settings first in case something goes wrong. See Backing up your information. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)

Text to voice is just as it says, not voice to text.
Oh sorry, I read that wrong, didn't I.
Have you tried the speech-to-text built in to Windows Vista? Probably not as convenient as having it right in the browser.
