My bookmarks option doesn't work.

I had a list of bookmarks that I used regularly until yesterday. Now when I click "bookmark this page" nothing happens. My list is gone and I don't seem to be able to create a new one. I tried downloading a new toolbar, but that didn't help. I also re downloaded foxfire. I don't know if it is an add-on problem, but I need my bookmarks to work. I have always had success with the foxfire browser. Thanks for your help.

This can be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.
