does importing bookmarks from chrome delete them from chrome?

I'm considering making Firefox my default browser. I would import my bookmarks from Chrome. Would importing just copy the bookmarks and leave the bookmarks in Chrome (which I would prefer to do)? Or would importing remove the bookmarks from Chrome? Best if I asked Chrome this question?

Firefox will always only read files when importing and never delete or modify them.

You need to export the bookmarks in Google Chrome to an HTML file and import that file in Firefox.
