Hi grey.71, you lost "Check for Updates" from the menu pictured in the attached screenshot?

Do you know whether a policy has been set to prohibit Firefox from checking for updates? That would usually show up on the about:policies page in the "Active" list.

Do you know whether a policy has been set to prohibit Firefox from checking for updates? That would usually show up on the about:policies page in the "Active" list.

check for updates is off, on purpose; as I run ff sandboxed. whenever there is an update. i run unsandboxed, do the update(s), then return to sandboxed mode.

The prodblem solved itself when I rebooted windows. which is what I should have done before I lodged a bug report
