Thunderbird 45 on OS X Yosemite loses message filters when closed.

I am running Thunderbird 45.4.0 on OS X Yosemite. I create message filters which work fine until I close Thunderbird. The filters have to be re-created. The only Add-On I have is Manually sort folders . This problem started when I updated to Thunderbird 45.0. Thanks in advance.
