My two new computers (Lenovo PC and HP laptop) both run Windows 8. Thunderbird is extremely slow on both when selecting and deleting messages. Get frequent 'not responding' messages.

Thank you - " Uncheck Email attachments under Real Time Scanning > Settings > Scan these attachments and locations" worked.
