Are these keywords for different search engines? Those are listed in the Manage Search Engines dialog.

To view that, click the icon at the left of the search bar and choose "Manage search engines..." If you have a lot of search plugins, you may have to scroll the list.

I'm not aware of a quick way to turn those into a cheat sheet...

Oh... maybe you meant the keywords you can assign to bookmarks. I think you might need an add-on to search/display those.

I didn't find one to list them all out when I searched on the Add-ons Site. I did find three extensions that add them to your right-click context menu when you select text in a page. This isn't the most convenient way to find a list, but could be a workaround until you find something better, if they show the actual keyword... I haven't tried them myself:

Jscher2000, Thanks for your replay and suggestions. Your 2nd assumption was correct.... I have been assigning "Smart Keywords" to search fields at various web sites. goo - google, nf-netflix, gf-google finance, imdb - IMDB etc. It makes it so easy to flip directly to a site with the search results displayed. (Almost like being back on linux cmd lines!)

I did a lot of reading this afternoon on the Mozilla forum and the idea I ran across was that these "Smart Keywords" are really bookmarks. I searched through my bookmarks and discovered many that all started with "Search site" (Where site was filled in with some site that I had previously assigned a smart keyword to.)

If you "Show all Bookmarks" and click on the appropriate folder that contains a Smart KW, all the smart ones start with "Search ..." and are grouped together at the bottom of the folder.

Clicking on the BM and then on the More button at the bottom, a Keyword: field appears and there is the abbreviation used as a "Smart Keyword". I was fortunate that I put them all in the default folder or else I would have to search all the BM folders and there are many!

If someone were good with apps or extensions, I bet it would be easy to write an app that would look through the bookmarks and display a list of the ones that had keywords assigned. That would do the trick.

One more thought...... You can edit any if your existing bookmarks and fill in the keyword field, then just typing that keyword in the URL field, takes you to that bookmark site... it doesn't necessarily need to be a search field.

It appears that the location field has a bit more info in it to activate a search, rather than just go to a web site.

IMDB looks like the following: http://www.imdb.com/find?q=%s&s=all

I'm guessing that one of those %s or &s actually substitutes in the argument to the KW typed in the URL field. Bob

Nice to know.... This might open up the opportunity to manually edit the location: fields on other bookmarks and possibly automate other functions. I'll play with this for fun. Bob

Solution: 1) Show All Bookmarks 2) Search for bookmarks starting with "Search .....site...." (Where site is filled in with your target site that you have assigned a KW) 3) click on that bookmark and click the "more" button at the bottom.

You will see a new field named: "Keyword:" That's the Smart Keyword" you assigned. If you took the default "Folder:" when you first assigned the Smart Keyword, you will probably find your Smart Keywords in the "Bookmarks Menu" folder. Bob

Note that you can have the Keyword column visible in the Bookmarks Manager (Library) via the Views > Show Columns menu or via the right-click context menu of the header in the right pane.

That is cool... Didn't realize the fields were customizable! That makes finding the Smart Keywords so easy. You may have just shared a great solution. Thanks. Bob
