Is anyone else having problems manually playing videos after selecting Block Audio and Video in order to prevent videos from auto playing? I got sick of videos starting automatically every time I navigated to a web page, so I followed the instructions to disable auto play by selecting Block Audio and Video in the settings. Now, when I try to manually play a video, it fails to start. Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue while still preventing videos from autoplaying? BTW, this is occurring on iPad and iPhone rung the latest iOS version.

Actually yes! Looks like a system API bug, but I observed that just disabling audio (i.e. the "middle" option) it actually stops autoplay with it. Give the other option a try, maybe it'll do.

First of all, thanks for the reply. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one experiencing this issue. No, disabling Audio didn’t resolve the issue either. It’s still not playing videos after selecting Audio only. The only way I can play videos is allowing autoplay to have free rein over my system at the moment.

Okay I guess I spoke too soon. After my initial reply, I stopped and restarted Firefox once I changed the setting to Audio and now I can play videos. Thanks for the tip. Still seems like a bug they need to fix, though.

I also wondered if that's just a me issue, but now when you confirmed it looks like a bug with the Apple APIs used. I've already investigated a little bit around it so I'll take a closer look now seeing it's more widespread.

I went ahead and filed a bug for it:

(If you could share what's your physical device and iOS version for comparison? Thanks.)
