If I download the installer from this website, it installs Yandex.ru s*** alongside it. The thing is not on my PC, I found a thousand of searches on Google about removing it and I've done so, but something is wrong with my Firefox browser now and to fix it - I need to re-install it, but doing so means the installer will also install Yandex on my computer. It is not on my computer, it's in the installer, I don't have any Yandex malware or anything - I completely eliminated it thru various tutorials, but if I use the Firefox installer, I will get Yandex installed alongside it (it even shows up the progress for Yandex specifically in one of the steps of the official installer).

What can I do to stop this, where can I get a proper installer where you guys don't add this horrendous Russian bullocks that I DON'T want to have on my computer (it's a legit search engine, but to me it's comparable to malware - it's hard to remove, it installs on all browsers, it's in RUSSIAN, it has no uninstallation tools).

Did you download the Mozilla installer from www.getfirefox.com?

Please do the following:

Clean Reinstall

Hello,

Certain Firefox problems can be solved by performing a Clean reinstall. This means you remove Firefox program files and then reinstall Firefox. Please follow these steps:

Note: You might want to print these steps or view them in another browser.

  1. Download the latest Desktop version of Firefox from http://www.mozilla.org and save the setup file to your computer.
  2. After the download finishes, close all Firefox windows (click Exit from the Firefox or File menu).
  3. Delete the Firefox installation folder, which is located in one of these locations, by default:
    • Windows:
      • C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
      • C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox
    • Mac: Delete Firefox from the Applications folder.
    • Linux: If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it - see Install Firefox on Linux. If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder firefox in your home directory.
  4. Now, go ahead and reinstall Firefox:
    1. Double-click the downloaded installation file and go through the steps of the installation wizard.
    2. Once the wizard is finished, choose to directly open Firefox after clicking the Finish button.

Reset Firefox

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Alright, this time the installer looks different, from the link you gave. Perhaps another version or something, atleast I didn't see the step of installing Yandex, but now I have another problem - even after re-installing Mozilla Firefox, it crashes instantly (it doesn't even bring up the window, it just throws up the Mozilla Crash Reporter.

Here's the details -

What should I do?

We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.

  1. Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
  2. In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
  3. From that explorer window, double-click on the Mozilla folder, then double-click on Firefox and then on Crash reports. Double-click on submitted.
  4. Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to View > Arrange Icons by > Modified to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
  5. Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
  6. Paste each ID with bp- into the reply window on the forums.

Thanks in advance!

You can find more information and troubleshooting steps in the Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly) article.

Only tried to open Mozilla 3 times (lol), since had to try running as admin as well, but clearly it didn't help. :(
