I've used Firefox on MacBook Pros since 2009. In the past there were ways to add shortcuts to websites to the Firefox Home Page. That capability is now badly degraded.

I'm running FF 156.0 on macOS Tahoe 26.7 on an M4 MAX MBP-16

Problem #1: The Firefox Homepage in one of the accounts on my MBP has 4 Rows of 6 icons each, for a total of 24. On another account it has 4 rows of 8 icons each for a total of 32. I want to increase the number of shortcut icons to 32 on the page which has 24, but I cannot find a way to do it.

Problem #2: I can't find a way to ADD a shortcut to a website to the Firefox Home Page. I'd done that many times without much difficulty about 4 years ago. (I don't want to do this by editing the name and the URL of an existing Home Page Icon.)

I received an email stating the following: "Firefox now has a built-in ad blocker.... Turn it on under Settings > Browsing." There is no "Browsing" in my Settings.

the box to put password, i type it in then hit enter it is the wrong one, so i do it again with the same password. And again it said wrong one. you can keep on typing in another series of letters or numbers and it said wrong password. Also I am getting better at writing passwords and dates down now not perfect.

Have tried all recommended fixes to enable usual Lottery sign in but no joy unless I do it in a private window. All cookies/racking/extensions etc. looked at but no joy. Only happened in last 2 weeks as have always managed to log in via usual window for years. Do not want to blow all history etc. away via Firefox as re-sets so many stats on sights I use so do this via CCleaner. At the National Lottery log in page detail is all there but the actual log in button greyed out. As I say can log in via Iphone or private window or using Edge so issue is with Firefox settings suddenly.

For the built-in VPN, I'm able to add websites to exclude either manually in the settings (Built-in VPN > Manage website settings) or from the webpage itself using the VPN icon. However, even when I save, if I close and re-open Firefox, the list is cleared and I have to re-add everything.

Is this normal or is there some other setting I'm missing?

Since FF 09/15/26 update manage cookies and data sites no longer will delete items. I click the 'save changes'. and that's it. All the cookies and data are still there. Hopefully a fix will be soon?

As of the last update, my search engine changed to google. I've disabled google search in tools and have yahoo listed as first and duck duck go as 2nd. Still, in the search bar, all I get is google as the search engine. I've tried all the 'fixes' I've found on the web and none have worked. There's not a way to get rid of google in the list Mozilla tools/search gives.

My bank had me reinstall firefox. NOW I keep getting messages to create a new user because it shows I have previously logged in on a more recent version. I had used a version of 60 something and now I have something in the 40's (140.16.0 .Windows 11) I really hesitate to change users because I do not have a clear picture of what I will lose. Like bookmarks and saved stuff.

I would like to just stop the messages.

In the Settings, the "HTTPS-Only" feature seems broken. There is an option to 'Don't enable" this feature, but that doesn't make any difference. I can get to an "http:" site using any other browser, but not with the latest Firefox.

When joining my daily Google Meet call, the audio is initially fine but when I change tab, change program or do anything other than look at the Google Meet tab, a crackling develops and gets worse the longer the Google Meet tab is not active. If I then switch to the Meet call, it alleviates the crackle but doesn't disappear altogether.

Things i've tried: - different earphones/headphones, bluetooth and wired, Mac's built-in speakers - disabled extensions - I've tried Chrome browser and the call works fine, no crackling whatsoever

Any ideas?

I haven't been able to login to Bank of America since July 13. I reported the issue a couple of times. Today I was unable to logon to my Con Edison account. Earlier in the month it worked. I cannot report this site in your help system. It locks on the description page. Does any one work on these issues? I'm concerned that more and more sites will not support Firefox in the future. Firefox was named after Ailurus fulgens, the Red Panda. It is an endangered species. Will Firefox become an endangered browser?
