I'm moving from Windows to Mac. I exported my Profile from the Windows setup to a ZIP. The import to the Mac seemed to go smoothly but the result is I got all my custom headings I'd nested under Inbox (etc.) but none of the contents. The ZIP is well over 1 gig in size so clearly the export caught all but none of the contents imported. '

For example, under Inbox I created a Heading named Receipts that was populated by receipts from purchases. The import added that heading but none of the emails under that Heading.

I tried simply copying the Profile file from the Windows profile folder to the Mac profile folder but that clearly did not work.

I'm on the edge of desperation here. I'd greatly appreciate any and all help.

Today Thunderbird will not download emails. Yesterday no problem downloading emails.

Windows 10. Thunderbird 153.3.1esr (32-bit) Email is POP3. AV is Malbytesware. I added what I think is the Thunderbird folder to exclusions ("Allow" in Malbytesware). I deleted the global-messages-db.sqlite file. Thunderbird recreated it, but the problem persists. I disabled Malbytesware and still cannot download emails.

Plenty of empty space on my C: drive where Thunderbird lives.

To the best of my knowledge, folder privileges have not changed today from yesterday.

Running Thunderbird as an Administrator does not fix the problem.

I need help to fix this. Please, if you have a suggestion, give me a few "click this..." steps so that I can follow you kind advice without having to come back and ask you again, "How do I do that...?"

I have three separate Yahoo email accounts. I set up Thunderbird to link to each Yahoo email account separately. It worked fine for a year or more. On 5/25/26 one of the three Thunderbird email accounts stopped downloading emails from Yahoo. I could see at the bottom bar Thunderbird indicating that is was downloading 1 of XX emails, but never actually downloads them. There is no error message. I checked the Yahoo email account to verify the number of emails I am missing from Thunderbird and the number is correct. I can see the emails in Yahoo. I'm the only person using Thunderbird, so no changes have been made to previous settings for retrieval. I confirmed Security and server settings for Thunderbird in and out going emails, and Yahoo are correct. I tested the connection in Thunderbird, and the connection is successful. I tried to send an email from the Thunderbird account having issues, and the email was sent and received by the recipient. The recipient replied, and Yahoo received the email, but failed to download it to Thunderbird...along with all the other emails since 5/25/26. I unlinked the account and reestablished the link between Yahoo and Thunderbird, and still not fixed. I tried restarting the computer, with no change. I tried to send an email from Thunderbird to one of the other Thunderbird emails and it was sent and received. I made changes to Thunderbird to force the download of emails, and it still wouldn't do it. I turned off my antivirus, closed Thunderbird, and restarted it, and that didn't change anything. The capacity of emails on the email in question only has 739 emails, so it's not over the limit and I have plenty of storage capacity. Thunderbird is set to save emails, Cookies and cache were cleared, no change. I ran the folder repair feature in Thunderbird, but there was no change. I compared all the settings between the other Thunderbird emails that are working against the one that isn't, and they are all the same. There was a suggestion to close out of Thunderbird and delete the "Global-message-db.sqite" file from the Thunderbird profile in case it was corrupted, and it would recreate this file when Thunderbird was restarted. The file was recreated, but it didn't fix the problem. There was mention that a suspicious email in Yahoo might be blocked by Thunderbird, so I placed various emails in the spam folder, and it didn't work. I did find one email in the Yahoo spam folder that was dated before 5/25/26 and moved it to the Yahoo inbox. Lo and behold, that one email downloaded to Thunderbird. So there is something within Thunderbird preventing emails from downloading after 5/25/26. I've read many people complain about similar download failures with no solid fix. Someone mentioned it fixed itself on a day, but then stopped again days later. Someone else mentioned Yahoo changed its password protocol to transfer emails, but that doesn't make sense since the other two are still downloading based on the "old" password protocol. This issue does not occur with other providers when using the same client to send emails.

It happens on different computers that has a newly installed operating system and a fresh installation of Thunderbird. The issue is only with the sent folder and only for this email account.

IMAP is properly configured to imap.startmail.com port 993. This should not matter because the issue is only to the sent folder.

Sent messages not going into a different folder by mistakes because of any filter.

Inside the profile folder under IMAP imap.startmail.com deleted Sent.msf, Sent messages, Sent messages.msf

Again the issue only affects mt Startmail account sent folder. All the other accounts do not have issues.

Thunderbird regularly unable to connect to my Google Calendar. Is there anything I can do? I updated it to the latest version today and now it said all the calendars (local, Google) are unavailable no matter what I do (unsubscribe, subscribe again and again)

And if I try to create a new calendar, the Google Calendar option is not even there anymore.

Is the latest Thunderbird broken or something I did?

I am trying to add 3 outlook.com email accounts. The first one works. The other 2 fail on the outbound server. Each account uses smtp.office365.com. I use Oauth for both incoming and outgoing. Fails on identification.

Everything I've tried in a script from crontab -e:

None of them work via script, but manually they all work in the terminal when typed in manually.

Really need to get this to run, because I'm using Thunderbird's filtering for email to move messages around into folders, so when I use my phone, tablet, laptop, the emails are in specific folders. But I want it to stop at 1am and restart at 7am, because I want the computer it is running on to do something between 1am and 7am that is CPU intensive.

I am moving the host of my email domain to a different provider and I want to protect my historical emails. So, when I put the new email host settings into outlook, it over-wrote the database and all my historical emails were wiped, and it turned out that my back up and archive pst files were both corrupted so couldn't restore them ( I have since managed to retrieve everything but it was a long process I don't want to go through again if I can help it). So I'd like to know where the database is stored so I can duplicate it first. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I face a problem with my email provider. I received an email and I can see 2 dates-hours in the emails platform of my provider (coprmail Cosmote, Athens, Greece). Specifically, 111:24 am and 12:06 pm. In Thunderbird, for the same email account, the column Date shows the value 12:06 pm. This caused other problem. In search I made, in the emails platform of my provider, for the same email, I have 11:24 am and in the preview window of the body of the email shows 12:06 pm. In my question to the provider, why this happened, I received the answer that the message received at their email server at 11:24 am, and the other date, 12:06 pm is the hour that the sender sent the email. I can understand that the PC of the sender could had wrong date+hour, but what is happend with thunderbird? So, my question to the community is: In the table list of emails in Thunderbird, the column Date what does it mean? I am waiting for receiving your reply. Lógicamente, no puedo configurarla. ¿Por que no se pide que introduzca ese dato tan importante? Por favor, ayuda. Gracias. Un saludo.

Explain the problem I have already described!! - When I try to read an e-mail a 'box' appears saying 'Thunderbird: The certificate for imap.shaw.ca does not come from a trusted source'--What is this for?? _ Yesterday an e-mail I sent to several contacts showed as 'Sent' BUT did not register in my 'Sent' folder ----I had to phone England to check that they had received the e-mail, which they had. Today I was able to send e-mails & they were recorded in my 'sent' folder BUT the other problem still persists. Please advise if there is something that can be done to correct this problem. when I go to get my email, it says I have 7 messages. Then a message pops up saying timed out and cannot download my messages. It has worked for all the years I have used Thunderbird. What can I do?

The last update to 156.0.1 changed my inbox settings.

Previously when I would highlight an email in my inbox it would show it read and show a preview in the lower frame. Now the email stays in BOLD and there is no preview frame. Where do I change it my Inbox back like it was previously? How do I change the setting so that when I highlight an email in my inbox it shows read and shows a preview in a preview frame?

Thunderbird email says the certificate for my Shaw email server does not come from trusted source. The certificate looks fine. I cannot get Thunderbird to "Add exception". The certificate issue seems to be an intermittent problem since yesterday lunchtime. It started working again yesterday afternoon, but stopped working at lunchtime today. How do I stop this error?
