How can I Manage Shortcuts on my Firefox Home Page?
I've used Firefox on MacBook Pros since 2009. In the past there were ways to add shortcuts to websites to the Firefox Home Page. That capability is now badly degraded.
I'm running FF 156.0 on macOS Tahoe 26.7 on an M4 MAX MBP-16
Problem #1: The Firefox Homepage in one of the accounts on my MBP has 4 Rows of 6 icons each, for a total of 24. On another account it has 4 rows of 8 icons each for a total of 32. I want to increase the number of shortcut icons to 32 on the page which has 24, but I cannot find a way to do it.
Problem #2: I can't find a way to ADD a shortcut to a website to the Firefox Home Page. I'd done that many times without much difficulty about 4 years ago. (I don't want to do this by editing the name and the URL of an existing Home Page Icon.)

6 vs. 8 items is based on the window size, try making it wider or making any sidebars smaller.
The customization options are listed in the "Shortcuts" section of support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customize-items-on-firefox-new-tab-page#w_shortcuts (usually people either add the tiles manually using the "+" button, or from the frequent/recent tiles that appear there based on usage choose to "pin" the ones they want to keep there permanently).

I'm using a 16" MacBook Pro with Display set to 1496 x 967. That is the same for all three of my log-in accounts. There is no sidebar in FF on my Admin Account, and none in my General User Account, yet Admin has 6 icons per row, and General User has 8. Both have plenty af room on both sides of the screen.
I wonder if I had reduced the width of the FF Window in the Admin Account at some time, and that the # of icons was reduced as a result. IF that was the case, restoring it to the full width of the screen did NOT increase the # of icons. The computer has been rebooted many times since such a reduction may have happened, and FF reopens full width.
EUREKA: I had about 6 FF Windows open; Some were less than full screen width. The window which displayed the FF Home Page was Full Width. I increased each FF Window to Full Width. Then I returned to the window which was displaying the FF Home Page and swaw that it then had 8 icons per row, AND the icons which had not been visible when only 24 were shown were again visible when all 32 were shown.
WRT to Pinning Bookmarks in th Matrix: I have verified that some of the icons in the Matrix were Pinned, and others were not. I've pinned a few of the other important ones.
I'll experiment with other operations in a day or two. ... I'll report back. PROGRESS!!

Happy to hear that it's getting better! To supplement Jan's response, in case you don't see the plus button, you should be able to edit any of the shortcuts (including automatically added ones) to replace them with the sites you need, and then pin them.
Thank Denys. I think that with this extra info I'll be able to do what I need to do. I'll give feedback after I have time to try to make my adjustments to keep the important adjustments pinned to the FF HOME PAGE
