Dell Synaptics touchpad scrolling locks up with Firefox 3.6.13.

I have Dell Precision M6500 running Windows 7 Ultimate. The "laptop" has a Synaptics touchpad. Whenever I bring up Firefox the touchpad stops functioning. This only happens with Firefox. When I did a web search I found that this is an old problem reported as far back as 2004 or 2005 with a number of Dell portable computers.

I had the same problem with my Dell Vostro V130 running on Windows 7 Home 64 bit. I had the problem solved by using driver downloaded from www.synaptics.com.
