Thunderbird will not send message with vpn turned on
This only recently started happening. This has been tested on 3 different computers. Windows 10 Pro on all three.
With VPN on: Bluemail works fine.
Thunderbird can connect and download messages, but when I try to send a message, it gives an error.
With VPN off:
Bluemail and Thunderbird both work fine.
Chosen solution
It turns out it wasn't quite the VPN. It was the country I had the VPN set to, the Netherlands. When I changed to Germany the problem went away. Now everything works fine.
It seems odd that they're blocking access to my SMTP but not IMAP, but whatever. Problem solved.

This is a common problem with VPNs, as they interrupt the process of sending mail. Look into the settings for the VPN to find how to bypass checking mail.
