Mail njot marked mail as read after opening mail

I use Thunderbird 140.7. New mails are marked bold black If i select one mail and dubble click to open it, the mail in the list stays bold black. So it is not marked as read. How can i make it that a mail when opened is automatically marked as read. Thanks
