1.OMG had to click the same button SOOOO MANY TIMES TO ACTUALLY GET TO THIS POST SCREEN OMG. STOP REDIRECTING AND JUST LET US POST CONSIDERING EVERYTHING ELSE IS ARCHIVED TOO! 2. BTW plz make it easier to have 2 copy's of Firefox, that doesn't Auto mess with a completely different install and directory setup. Maybe a Portable version that supports Flash and doesn't actually connect online?

Okay ISSUE:

I downloaded 82.0 Before 2021 and is before Flash was removed from Firefox. When I try to open the .SWF with Firefox it just wants to 'Download' or 'Open' with a program through Firefox instead of actually opening. I came across another post that had an Answer that doesn't seem to be working:

https://support.mozilla.org/gl/questions/1172126

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste plug*ht and pause while the list is filtered

(3) Double-click the plugins.http_https_only preference to switch the value from true to false

That method doesn't change anything when trying to open the Flash. I am trying to do this because I have a .SWF that I know works through the Browser on Firefox but doesn't want to load with Ruffle.

Chosen solution

The preference mentioned before would allow Firefox to run file:///something.swf if the Flash plugin is installed and enabled. Firefox never came with Flash built-in. During the time that Flash was supported, Firefox needed to find the Flash plugin installed on the system in order to run it. I believe Microsoft issued an update that purged Flash, but you can check your system to see what the status is.

Adobe has a stand-alone Flash player called the Projector. Perhaps that would be useful?

I had updated Firefox, installed the 82.0 to different HDD all together with just Desktop Icon, it deleted my updated Firefox Pin on taskbar. It asked for a Restart, I did, then I opened 82.0 and tried the above method as it didn't just work, and that didn't work either. Just Clarifying I'm using 82.0 freshly installed.

Thank you for your Response, the Adobe Projector worked! It sucks how sketchy it has to be to get this type of software. Had to go to 'Internet Archive' because the few places I did find it just linked back to adobe where it says they ended flash.. Thank you again.
