Facebook opens correctly in other browsers but only partly in firefox. Some posts pop up and immediately disappear again, others remain.
When connecting via firefox to facebook a series of posts appear and immediately disappear again. So I can see only a limited amount of posts. Same happens when I scroll down: some posts appear and disappear immediately, creating a flickering effect. When connecting to fb via Chrome or Edge I don't have this problem. This issue appeared (I think) after I deleted Java 32 bit version and installed Java 64 bit version instead (but I'm not sure about this). Anyway, Firefox does not support Java any more does it (I have version 58 (64 bits). Of course I could continue to use Chrome or edge only for FB, but that does not solve the issue with Firefox. Any suggestions pls? Thanks

Hi Fred and Happy 112, I think I found the culprit by disabling the Ublock Origin extension. So this seems to solve my problem. Thanks very much to both of you! Charles

Make sure you are not blocking content.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
Hi Fred, I started in safe mode and this time the issue did not happen. I could see all the posts without any of them disappearing.
It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or it could be Hardware Acceleration. How to disable Hardware Acceleration {web link}
Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.
Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All Of them.
If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.
Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is, detective.
Hi,
Seperate issue : Your system details show that you need to update your Adobe Flash Player to avoid problems - would you please uninstall your current version and install the latest version, which is 28.0.0.137

Well done, Charles !
But that's exactly why Fred wanted you to try Safe Mode (that would disable uBlock Origin and other add-ons) - so, Fred's post should be marked as the one that solved your problem, don't you think ?
You can rectify the Chosen Solution mark by clicking on the 'Undo' button to the right of the post and then mark Fred's post as the one that solved your problem.
Thank you in advance, and again : well done !
