Attach button does not respond. Drag and Drop works. (bug2077590)

I cannot use the attach button to attach files to outgoing emails. Alt+Shift+A does not respond either. I am running Thunderbird from the "Thunderbird Setup 157.0.1" installer. I am able to drag and drop but that method is rather unwieldy. I recently upgraded Windows 11 to version 26H2.157.

Until that is fixed you will need to rely on drag and drop.

Hello Wayne. Thanks for your thought. I was trying to get away from drag and drop but I did get led to a solution that works. It was posted by Knorr 1982 on Bugzilla. It reads as follows:

"The solution (until the bug is fixed):

In the settings > general > advanced settings interface, search for: "mail.compose.attach.dir". The value (path) here must be changed to one that is still available (for example C:). Close and exit Thunderbird, then restart it, and it will be fine.

It worked!
