Firefox for iOS Community Forum

Ever since the last update, I have been unable to access an HTTP site on my home network. Site does not have https setup. Site does require authentication. It my home network (so only accessible when I am home). Firefox immediately returns "HTTP ERROR 401 Unauthorized". How can whatever you turned on be turned off so that I can resume using Firefox (instead of Safari, which doesn't have this issue)? If your answer is "setup https", that's not what I'm asking (remember I said this was on my home network, so only accessible when I am at home).

I’m hoping to find out if there is any setting or option in the Firefox for iOS app that would toggle permanent display of the current website URL instead the address bar.

Noticed while doing a google search: after searching, the address bar truncates the displayed URL to just “google.com,” which is very useless in itself - tapping the address bar, however, fills it with the terms of my search. There is no way to view the full URL from here; you have to long press the address bar, after which you need to tap “Copy URL,” then paste it somewhere else, like a Notes app, to view the actual URL that was copied.

Am I missing anything, or is that the current most efficient way? If it is, why? It seems counterintuitive to obfuscate URLs like this.

I will clarify that so far I’ve only seen this while searching with Google. On other sites, the URL is still shortened severely to show just the domain (still a very inconvenient design choice that cannot be disabled, though), but at least there IS one being displayed at all.

Has this issue been brought up before? It seems like a relatively new change, and one that hasn’t benefited users, so I’m curious if there is some kind of workaround I couldn’t find.

Previously, on Firefox iOS, I would tap on the URL bar, type a search query, hit enter, and I would immediately navigate to the Google search page.

Now, in-between hitting enter and navigating to the Google search page, there is a multi second delay.

Tried to check all possible settings, but cannot see any place I can turn this on. I see that if I use google.com for new tabs I can use the google page voice search icon. Want this as an icon directly in the url text field

Trying to sync my iPhone t my laptop with Mozilla. I’ve always had a sync on these 2devices but I’m getting messages to finish downloading on my phone. It’s installed and has been running for some time. What’s up?

Here is my rant. I am done. I have been trying really hard to deal with this browser as this is recommended as a high security and safety browser but the UI design and functionality of this browser is just HORRID! I would even use stronger words but they won’t be allowed in a review. So, here are few of the most ridiculous things I’ve met so far: 1. When you try to log in somewhere and want to select a saved login and password, you will fail to find a way to do it, both on a PC app and mobile. On PC, if the login field any sort of “hint” to what the login should be, like in an institution with their own domains, you won’t see your login until you remove that hint manually. Not any other browser on this planet has this idiotic way of working with saved credentials NONE! Then, after you did that, you will see your saved login AND 5-10 more options that I have no idea how they made there and who on earth would use them every time they want to log in??? Why do you offer me to import passwords from all the installed browsers every time I try to log in when I already have done this and have the saved password in this browser. Who did this? Who approved this? Now, the mobile app (iOS). Why is there a detached button from the keyboard that is randomly showing up or disappearing behind a keyboard, that I need to catch and press to see the saved passwords. Are you okay there??? When you design features you must ask yourself “What is the purpose of this feature?” And go from there, to serve your design that purpose. For example, “Why people use saved passwords?” The answer is simple - To save time entering them, as they are now required to be long and contain special symbols. Not being able to remember is not a main reason anymore. Thus, why do you design an element of UI to serve this purpose that requires 10 more steps to accomplish the same thing other browsers and apps take just few to do? There is no security improvements behind it. It only makes users to get frustrated and stop using your browser and go back to other browsers or apps to store their passwords. Who does it help? How would this improve security? It doesn’t. Be realistic about it. Just integrate the credential selection into the keyboard top bar. That’s it. Gosh. 2. Dictionaries. OMG! It is 2026 and you literally cannot make a universal dictionary to proof typed text? You have to download it, install it, and then tinker with it until you make it actually sync across devices after you add new words into it? Are you serious??? Just check words spelling as a single word, it won’t hurt security on private accounts if you just check one word at times that they were not found in the locally stored dictionary. This is not a rocket science. Come on 🤦 3. Back to saved passwords. Why does always glitch out and will not allow you to even open the context menu when you tap/hold over the password field, where you should select either copy or reveal? You literally can only fix it by killing the browser and restarting it or tapping Edit and start editing it. Hwat???? 4. New and change password functionality. This is insane! You have a function to suggest a strong password when a form for password change appears on a page. It generates a new strong password for you okay, and … you won’t ever guess what happens next … you click on it, it pastes it into a new password field and confirm field, and then …. Surprise! It will never save/update it in your existing credentials! It won’t even offer! Won’t copy to the buffer, won’t offer to update the saved password, nothing! Are you serious out there? Did you even test this thing before release? What version is it, 198 or something? I swear, I will use MS Edge over Firefox now. I am done.

Certain sites such as Hotmail and YouTube are not loading or loading incorrectly. When I go to "Help" and select More Troubleshooting Options, Refresh Firefox does not appear as an option. Karl

Hi, I lost the ability to sign i to my Amex account about 3 days ago (~1-21-2026). I put in my login details, and it just spins and then nothing happens. I have a Mac desktop. I can access on Safari, and on iPhone and on Amex App on iPhone I have tried multiple things i read online like: - refreshing Firefox - remove and reinstall Firefox - Login Incognito -Clear Cache -Changed Amex pw -Not use VPN

I don’t know if there was an update for the firefox application recently but I can’t seem to add bookmarks anymore. I have tried restarting the application and signing in and out of the application with my firefox account. This shouldn’t be happening as anyone would understand. Please help.

I press add bookmark in the setting for the application and it never bookmarks the page. I have searched for it in folders but nothing.

It never pops up at the bottom of the screen showing an edit button for the bookmark either.

This is a crucial problem for the application and I want it fixed ASAP please.

i just wanted to share a link from the Spundcloud app on my iPhone to my PC, via Firefox share menu. But the only option visible was „Search in Firefox“.

Is this something the Soundcloud forces or does the share menu has an issue?
