I've been looking at firewall logs for my client and router software firewalls. My 3rd party firewall flags repeated outgoing TCP packets to IP 34.149.100.209 as coming from Firefox and 'Restricted', although restricted is the firewall apps syntax. When I look at the router firewall on WAN it was seeing the same IP outgoing. These packets only originate when Firefox (latest version) opens. Perhaps there's nothing to worry about or it's there to poll for those who want to select a Google search engine? Anyway, I've added a rule in the router to block the IP, although I think Google use other IPs.

There is plenty of web discussion to REMOVE restricted from Firefox but I want to make sure 'Restricted' in my case means BLOCKED, is that possible or do I misunderstand what restricted means? Thanks

Here's my question.

I am well versed with, and frequently use the Manage Data tool in Cookies and Site Data to remove bothersome cookies, particularly from sites like news sites that will throw you a few "bones" of articles without mandating a subscription before requiring one to continue to use view the site.

I took a hard look at the Manage Exceptions option next to the check box that will Delete Cookies and Site Data when Firefox is closed, but requires that I'd have to input a hundred sites that I want to retain the cookies for manually, in order to avoid potentially loosing any credentials or site data.

Which brings me to my question, kind of the reverse of the steps you use to both delete cookies and Manage Exceptions. Rather than going one by one with Manual entry of each site that you want to retain site data and cookies for, why not generate/provide a list, populated the way the Manage Data function works. And then, let the user just select the exceptions to auto cookie deletion when you close Firefox?

I am following the instructions to delete browsing history, but it’s not working…within the Firefox app on my iphone, I hit the menu, then History, then the trash can icon. No matter what option I choose (last hour, last day, last week, last 4 week, or all time), nothing at all happens. If tried giving it time…but nothing. This has been on ongoing issue for me across iOs updates…I’m currently on iOs 18.5. I can delete individual sites in my history, but really I want to be able to delete my all time history, or really I’d take any of the bulk delete options at this point.

When I attempt to print an email that has remote content and I have blocked remote content, Thunderbird's print function fails. When printing with plain text it just hangs as the automatic content downloading notice pop-up spins trying to download alternates between 0 and 1 bytes. Changing the view to simple html or original html does not resolve the problem. When viewing in original html you can see the yellow warning banner stating "To protect your privacy Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message."

I have blocked remote content through View --> unchecking "Display Attachment Inline"

under

Tools -> Settings -> Privacy & security --> unchecking "Allow remote content in message"

The solution of just allowing the content will not work since that open the security hole trying to be closed. Formerly this worked, it seems like something in a recent update gets the routine stuck in a loop as it will not allow printing if there is remote content. Thunderbird hangs and needs to be manually terminated. This appears to have stopped working in the last couple of months.

exceptions. To do this, go to Tools > Options > Privacy and check the box for "Allow remote content in messages".

Using Firefox for Android 138.0.2 Motorola G Android version 12

Lately, when selecting the Bookmarks from the menu, a folder icon with the McAfee red M appears briefly before my bookmarks are shown. I generally avoid McAfee products like the plague, and this behavior gives me concern that my FF app may be compromised. Any ideas as to what's going on? Thanks.

I do not have a junk folder in my left pane and have not created one in account settings. I have it enabled but fearing missing something important, I just delete them when flagged.

I have never heard from anyone telling me that their e-mails are not getting through.

The one thing I do notice is that when I create new accounts on web sites, I often do not get the confirmation e-mails.

Recently, WSJ ad, ad for a casino game, and other ads, have been pulling up Google Play Store on my Galaxy A10e. I was also noticing that my settings were changed back to the default settings. I suspected the updates for Firefox was the problem. I happened to check the settings after one of these ads came up in Candy Crush, also knowing the Firefox settings were correct for me, and found the settings were back to default. I have my phone as up-to-date as possible. It's a disturbing an ad in a separate app could change something basic in Firefox for Android.

A while ago Firefox for Android started giving prompts to open links in native apps while using private mode. It really doesn't make much sense to have this feature in private mode, as this obviously defeats the purpose of private browsing. I couldn't find any option to turn this off specifically for private mode. There is an option to turn this feature off completely, but that's not what I'm looking for. How do I get rid of this?
