I want to set a timeout for the master password. It's clearly a security threat to leave passwords unencrypted. It bothers me more than being prompted for the master password.

I remember we used to be able to set the timeout and it's a pain to go and logout the software security device after logging in to the one thing that needs the master password.

I am NOT a fan of this relatively new Full-screen mode at all unless I initiate it when watching a movie or in very few other instances. I don't like any device second-guessing or anticipating what I need to do and when or if it needs to do this for me. It has caused me more problems than it has helped, and injected some frustrating delays getting what I want done due to the added need and interruption of being paused to constantly press F11 again and again. It's not second nature and at this point, I don't think it will be. I don't need or want this feature and I don't understand this new world where features have to be nailed down and locked now with the "like it or lump it" mentality without option to remove or disabled this? (Sorry, I don't like MS Edge either, and not only for this reason!) I would be happy to go back to a previous version of Firefox that is without this feature, if this is the only answer. I'm hoping it is not?

There was a previous very brief post on here that directed users to go to about:config and set full-screen-api.enabled to false in order to disable this feature, but no one positively confirmed that it worked and the thread was closed. This doesn't appear to be working for me with the most current version of Firefox.

Is there someone who can help give me peace in my life again by showing me how to disable this permanently and forever? I know about F11 and don't ever want to have to press it again! I would appreciate any help, and you might even make my Christmas list if it works?

Thanks!

Hi

Usually when I like an article and don't have time to read it, I'll save it for later to read it on my Kindle as plain text.

In FireFox, I'll use the F9 key to Toggle The Reader View to view it in the reader mode, then save the page as text by doing ctrl+s, as I don't need the html version or the images or extra stuff that comes with the article.

However, after the page is saved as text, getpocket.com dumps a lot of unnecessary garbage into the beginning(27 lines) & end(18 lines) of the page, even if I don't have a pocket account nor logged in as listed below.

Is there a way to prevent FF from saving the annoying Pocket self-promo garbage besides saving each page manually and tediously?

Thanks

Hello, I just bought a new laptop, and am trying to sync my firefox account.

The new laptop wouldn't accept my password. So I changed it to a new one.

It doesn't accept the new password either. And now it seems like firefox isn't allowing me to logout of my account either. What is going on with the passwords? I can't afford to reset everything and lose all of my data and log ins. They have been generated by firefox and are all randomly alfanumeric.

What am I to do?

I want Protonmail as my default mail for Firefox. Windows 11 allows me to install Protonmail as an application. I cannot find or use that application in order to use my Protonmail email as my 'mailto' option in Firefox. Why does Firefox not allow this? Why can't Firefox find and suggest the Windows 11 Protonmail app in its list of suggestions under 'mailto' options?

For over a decade I've used FF, and when I download things (99% of the time from Yahoo) I set FF to "always ask" what to do with downloads. Suddenly that changed and it started downloading everything automatically to the Download Folder.

I went to options and changed everything back to "always ask."

FF does always ask... but... it ALSO still auto downloads to the Downloads Folder now.

And I can't figure out how to stop that.

Any help is appreciated.

The new Firefox print app controls have a default of print ALL. To print a specific number of pages requires three steps: clicking on the drop down, selecting Custom, and then entering the desired pages to print. This setup for pages to print is too time-consuming and not ecological either, in that users may often rely on the default and print all the pages when they are not needed or wanted. ''''What might be better is to place just to the right of ALL a box for entering the selected pages to print, eg. 2-3. ' Entering numbers into this box automatically deselects ALL, as it does on the Windows 10 system app. This way users could immediately enter the desired pages to print. If no page numbers are entered, then the default is ALL. This approach saves time and reduces waste of ink and toner. If ODD and EVEN options must be retained, then retain the Custom drop down, but put the box for selected pages just to the right of ALL for immediate entry of chosen page numbers. Perhaps a high percentage of Firefox users print web pages to selected page numbers--can't prove it, but very plausible.
