I run normal firefox on linux. Fully up-to-date. Every time I quit the app, it reverts to a version of my profile from a month ago, and loads all the tabs I had open then, and then receives all the tabs that I sent to the device in the interim (~1 month). As I speak, it just caught the 60 or 70 tabs in this window.

I tried changing the name of my profile folder to randomstring.defaultOLD and changed one of the backups to randomstring.default. This didn't change the behavior. I'm still stuck in the loop. I saved my tabs with onetab, because firefox isn't remembering my session anymore. I thought it was something to do with updates, like it only loses its mind upon updates, but that's not true. It thinks it's updating firefox EVERY TIME, because the one time it's loading to 1 month ago it was updating, but I'm 100% sure there are no updates to firefox in my linux. It's just hallucinating.

The articles on restoring from backup are outdated. They say to use an html file. There is no html file. It's just folders for profiles, not html files. HELP!

when i use Chrome or edge to access yahoo email I can write & edit. when using Firefox browser; I cannot write & edit/highlight/change text colours etc before sending. tried deleteing & re-installing Firefox . please help. Driving me crazy rsvp

For the built-in VPN, I'm able to add websites to exclude either manually in the settings (Built-in VPN > Manage website settings) or from the webpage itself using the VPN icon. However, even when I save, if I close and re-open Firefox, the list is cleared and I have to re-add everything.

Is this normal or is there some other setting I'm missing?

When using Firefox 154.0.1 (MacOS) and VPN, my ISP provider seems to randomly change between my selected country (Canada) and current location (US).

Is this a known bug, or is there a setting that I need to tweak?

How can I stop Firefox from automatic granting sites cross-site cookie permissions (see screenshot)? The problem is that the cross-site cookie(s) granted for a site more often than not is completely unrelated to that site. This problem is very frustrating.

I have tried changing several settings in Tracking Protection but nothing has stopped Firefox from auto-granting these permissions. I have for example turned off "Fix major site issues (recommended)" but it has not changed this behavior.

FF dev 155.0b5 (but this has been ongoing for 1+yr). W11p. Is there somewhere in settings where I can "disable" whatever is blocking videos from being seen? (for example BBC news videos). I have to go to troubleshoot mode to watch. I have previously disabled all potential blocking exts like ghostery & UBlock, but to no effect (still no videos). I have looked in security in settings. Otherwise, I either go to troubleshoot or open chrome. Or, is there an extension that will allow that video viewing? Please advise, thank you.

I opened Firefox this morning and all of my pinned shortcuts have disappeared. Shortcuts are enabled in the settings. I checked the browser.newtabpage.pinned pref on the about:config and all of my pinned shortcuts are not there

The browser has become very annoying to use and it keeps using a popup telling me to update! the problem is not the update in its self but when I allow it to do the update I can never find where it downloaded it to so I am plagued with this constant pop-up, I used to like Firefox but recently they got barred from Facebook messenger video calls.

The Firefox built-in VPN option appeared for me about a week ago, maybe two; I don’t know whether it only just reached me in the rollout, or whether Firefox highlighted it because of the “more bandwidth” promotion. Either way, I activated it. But then, three days ago, I noticed that my browsing was no longer going through a VPN, and that the VPN settings had all disappeared from Firefox.

I’m in Australia. I’m signed into my Firefox account. I’ve tried signing out and back in; restarting this device; and doing as many steps from the Support article “Unable to find the built-in VPN in Firefox” as I could, given that it gives instructions for desktop Firefox, not Android. In particular, I removed one study—not the one named in the article, but a different one with “holdback” in the name (something like “long term holdback H1”).

I have Windows 11. I want to upload pictures to blogger but they will not upload. I have cleared my cache and turned off protections as suggested and they still will not upload.

the login never completes and there are messages at the bottom of the screen that it is waiting for various sites like ips.navigatorixa mail.com if I wait Firefox eventually times out with site not responding

I cannot open any files on my Google Drive from one email account. I've tried opening troubleshoot mode, signing out of all accounts, clearing cache... but nothing works. I don't really know what's causing the issue because my Google Drive works fine on Safari. I'm lowkey getting really annoyed because my drive hasn't been able to work for a week... This issue occurs for both windows and mac OS.

Hi, I can no longer login using Firefox (latest version for my mac 154.0) into a website that I had no issues logging into until now. Nothing that I am aware off changed on my computer during the last few months. I turned off protections for the website, but it doesn't help. It just sits there, no error message.

I can login into the same website, with the same exact credentials using Safari.

Any idea why this might happen? Does anyone else experiences the same?
