Firefox has started making a piercing high-pitched screech when the "save image" and "file update" panels appear. This is a confirmation or alert sound I suppose. It occurs when saving an image from a right-click menu and when downloading a file. Formerly Firefox used the system default sound for this, and that sound is still working in other programs for similar operations.

How can I fix this? Or alternatively how can I disable the sound during such operations in Firefox (or alternatively system-wide)?

Hi, I've noticed an inconsistency when clicking on Web-based protocol handlers in Firefox on Windows. Specifically, when I click on a mailto protocol, such as "mailto:email@example.com," it directly opens my default email application without any confirmation prompt. However, when I click on any other protocol handler, a confirmation pop-up appears, asking me to confirm which application to use. I have attached an example of what I mean.

Is there a way to configure Firefox to always show a confirmation pop-up for all protocol handlers, including mailto links? I prefer to have the option to choose the application each time rather than automatically using the default one.

So i wanted to remove borderline between text bar and tab bar. After some googling i manege to do so by console(contl+shift+alt+i), in string "--tabs-navbar-separator-color: light-dark(rgba(0,0,0,.1), rgba(0,0,0,.3));" i change 3 to 0 and borderline gone. But every time i restart browser is all back. Is there any way to make it permanent ?

Is there any reason why the menu item text in the URL popup menu is so spaced out in FF 115 and 125?

It's the only menu I've found like that.

See attached screenshots. The one on the left is FF 115, and the one on the right is FF 88 (more normal).

Is there a way to fix this?

And also remove that "Add" menu item at the bottom?

Before the recent 1-2 updates, pdfs,pictures and .torrent meta files used to get saved in temp folder which I LOVED very much. Recently these are getting save in my download folder instead of saving in the temp folder.

I changed this setting to allows ask. Still the files are getting saved in the download folder after opening.

Please assist me to resolve this issue. Thanks.

I made a small CSS customization to my tabs in FF 115 ESR on Windows 7, so they would be flat on the bottom and rounded on the top, looking a bit more like tabs instead of buttons.

Looked ok in FF 115 ESR.

However, in FF 125, half the tabs are now cut off, including their text (see attached images).

Also the tabs background is darker in FF 115 ESR, providing more contrast between the tabs and the tab bar. In FF 125, it's almost all white and I can hardly distinguish between the tabs and the tab bar.

Why is there such a big difference in appearance between FF 115 ESR on Windows 7, and FF 125 on Windows 10?

This is a silly one, probably.

My refresh button has mysteriously disappeared from my browser toolbar. I can just use cmd+shift+r to refresh, but muscle memory keeps looking for the button on screen too, and it would be nice to have it back!

I opened up the customize options, thinking maybe I just removed it by accident, but refresh doesn't appear to be an option?

I also opened it up in troubleshoot mode to see if that would change anything. It did not :(

I also don't have any extensions that mess with the toolbar, so I don't think that would be an issue (and troubleshoot mode should have disabled extensions anyway I think.)

I recently updated to 126.0.1 - no idea if that has anything to do with it, but this did happen right after the update.

There are a couple more people on here with the same question, and they all had easy solutions. I'm hoping I'm just not seeing a setting somewhere.

Hi, i have problem with uninstalling uBlock Origin i cant remove them from extension tab. I tried refreshing firefox, reinstalling, opening firefox with troubleshoot mode and still nothing i dont know why is so difficult.Even when i reinstalling firefox this addon onstalling by itself even when im not logged in.Please help me. When scrolling down I choose to read an article in a new window. When I open the new window, on the right side, a pop up window appears titled “Join the Conversation” or “More from Daily Express” blocking some of the article’s words. How can I stop this pop up window from appearing? Thanks.

I tried redownloading Firefox after I saw that i was unable to download any extenstions/add-ons. Anytime i try to download something from the firefox browser, the download fails or gets cancelled. I never changed any settings, how can i fix this?bold text

When I open Firefox these days, the window is so big that the toolbar is barely visible. I have to put the cursor in just the right little spot to pull the window down and resize it. It is NOT full screen or maximized, it just opens a huge window that's too far up on the screen. I just want to resize the default window that it opens with.

Ridiculous with the new update page saying " A browser that's truly yours My Firefox: More Speed, More Security, More Fun." Hey there, long story short - nowadays it's crucial to support those who WFH, and most people use G Suit for company work. I personally have a few daily calls via Google Meet and having the TAB sharing feature available is highly appreciated. I know this was requested a lot, but this is a real dealbreaker for many people.

What are your thoughts on this? Maybe it's somewhere in the roadmap already? Thanks!

I have Firefox set to "view PDF files in Firefox", but this is not happening with sites like Capital One and Consumer's Energy. these sites are just saving directly to my downloads folder even though I 1) Want to view the file first and 2) if it is going to save a flle, it is set up to ask where the file should be saved.

Neither of these things are happening even though I have them set up correctly in Settings.

When visiting the "support.mozilla.org site, third-party translantion add-ons(such as "Immersive Translate") can't work. It says "can not read or change data on this site". I want to translate it on the same page rather than skipping into a new page. However, it can work on the "www.mozilla.org" site. When visiting on Chrome, there is not a problem. Is that site just privileged on Firefox ?

PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY - Thru Firefox, I use Tineye to find related photos - I use it all the time, it's been great - I always use a VPN and have never had problems until now (as of yesterday). Now it won't search, a verify you're human window comes up, and I have to keep clicking squares, which I do - but then it says to allow cookies and start over. Well I don't want to allow cookies (Firefox-Mozilla kinda encourages using their tools to block cookies, which I much prefer), and I CANT FIND WHERE TO ALLOW (not yelling its just that I said this before and it wasn't noticed) cookies even if I did (I went to Firefox preferences all I could find was under privacy & security cross-site cookies but that did nothing) and I don't want to disable my VPN. Maybe I should mention that I just added or started a Mozilla account, as I have had immense trouble with my aol emails, and am trying to move everything over to a gmail account. My sign in to Firefox was the aol email, and I had to try (I thought I did it) add another account, which I think I did successfully. So it was right after that, that all this started. Help please! I did get the following reply, saying to allow cookies (BUT I DON"T KNOW HOW OR WHERE TO DO IT) and something about a new browser profile and to stay out of my sync account, and I APOLOGIZE, but I have no clue what all that means. What is a broweser profile, what is a sync account and how do I stay out of it? I guess well I know i'm not too smart about this kinda stuff, so I apologize but I think I need detailed step by step what to do to fix this. I know thats a lot of typing, sorry.

here is the video: https://streamable.com/zffknq the issue is about transparent bar with vertical addons and slowly fullscreen animation, and the fullscreen animation isn't config-able, I already set full-screen-api.transition-duration.enter 0 0 full-screen-api.transition-duration.leave 0 0 in about:config, and disable sidebar or userChrome is not work too. and this is happend about one mouth ago after my nixos update firefox.

With previous versions of Firefox (before 108.0.1) I was able to make changes with about:config to allow a default domain id .com to be added to my Internet query. Example I enter cnn and would get cnn.com and assess the website. WIth 108.0.1 I enter cnn and Firefox cannot find the site. The about:config changes I made are:

 set browser.urlbar.autofill to false, set keyword.enabled to false and set browser.fixup.alternate.enabled to true.

With 108.0.1 how can this be implemented like in the past versions? Thanks
