i have the latest McAfee SaaS endpoint security for my work. The new upgrade has a plugin that is not working with the current Firefox. Can I downgrade to a previous version without losing my bookmarks and passwords?

You're better off getting an update for that security app than downgrading Firefox. Tomorrow Firefox 29 is scheduled to be released, and you would then be two version behind and missing the Firefox security updates in both Firefox 28 and 29.

That said, if McAfee is not capable of keeping their software up to date, maybe you should be using a security application that takes security more seriously.

Security software should do their work in the background. Their shouldn't be a need to integrate in Firefox via extensions or plugins, especially if they aren't able to keep track of the current Firefox release (Firefox 29, 30 ,and 31 are available for testing). In a lot of cases such additions also aren't working properly and cause problems.
