There no longer seems to be an option to re-name bookmarks under Organise- just new, copy, paste and delete. There is a long winded way of doing it, but I'm asking in case I'm missing something. I have Windows 8.1 Thanks

You can change the name of the currently selected bookmark in the details pane at the bottom right in the Bookmarks Manager (Library; Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks).

In the Bookmarks Toolbar and Bookmarks menu and sidebar you can do this via the properties in the right-click context menu.

Thanks Cor-el. I dont have a Library option, and the right click menus definitely don't include re-name or properties so we must have differnt versions. By following your link I can see that by selecting the bookmark the website opens then I can use the yellow star to edit. Alternatively I can follow the Show All Bookmarks tree and edit in the Name box at the bottom of the window. I was just hoping that it was as easy as the earlier version of Firefox on my old (now defunct) PC, and also the latest IE. With both of these there was/ is a tab for Bookmarks/ Favorites on the top toolbar then a simple right click opens an edit menu which includes Re-name. Anyway there are 2 ways of re-naming so I have marked the thread as solved. Thanks again

You should be able to right-click a bookmark in the Bookmarks Menu button drop-down list that shows when the menu bar is hidden or the Bookmarks menu on the menu bar and in the Firefox menu button

You can also do this in the bookmarks sidebar via the right-click context menu in the Properties.

  • Toggle the Bookmarks sidebar on/off via "View > Sidebar > Bookmarks" or Ctrl+B (Command+B on Mac)
