For the past few days every 5-20min a new window appears for Firefox with an ad for a game,a website, porn, or other random stuff and i cant figure out whats causing it. I have been trying to block each one by copying there URL's but it does not seem to be working. i have pop ups blocked and all that, but these still are coming and they are getting quite annoying.

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.
