There's no error message. I'm just going to someone's home page. It has happened with several websites. IE works fine and so does Firefox on another computer. I've cleared cache and history and started in safe mode. Neither helps. It's only certain websites, but I can't get to those websites even a day or a week later.

I tried viewing the page source and it's blank except for the number 1.

Hello,

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.

You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).

Then perform these steps:

  • Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
  • In the Firefox options window click the Advanced tab, then select "General".
  • In the settings list, you should find the Use hardware acceleration when available checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
  • Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Did this fix your problems? Please report back to us!

Thank you.

Can you post a link to a publicly accessible page that doesn't require authentication (signing on)?

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make a note of those passwords and bookmarks.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.

It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Check that you aren't blocking domains via a hosts file and also check your security software.

You can try to reset (power off/on) the router.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

Here's one: feliciaslattery.com. I have another one on my list, too. Forget About This Site didn't work. The article "Error Loading websites" didn't help. I did try the flush DNS technique -- didn't work. Most of the issues involve an error message, but I don't get one; just a completely blank page. I haven't tried Windows Safe Mode yet, but I'm not having any general connectivity issues. The only thing I can think of that these sites have in common is that they are all small WordPress sites, but I get to many small WordPress sites with no problem.
