How can I remove a broken bookmark link?

Really not sure if there is a better way of putting it. Basically my browser is registering a bookmark, but nothing more than it's name; no location, nothing (see image url: http://tinypic.com/r/2n1z4x/5). It can't be deleted, or moved or anything. It's not really much of a problem more than any bookmarks below it don't show up on the toolbar menu, but I'd rather not have it if possible.

Seeing as the bookmarks file is actually readable in Notepad++ I think this is the broken link (given the entry before it is the bookmark placed directly above it on the toolbar):

{"index":2,"title":"Tags","id":4,"parent":1,"dateAdded":1357947259755000,"lastModified":1357947259755000,"type":"text/x-moz-place-container","root":"tagsFolder","children":[]}

Assuming this is the issue, would I be fine in simply deleting this from the file or would a different course of action be advised? Would backing up then restoring clear the issue?
