Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

You can open the about:config page and search for prefs that are referring to "qv06" and reset those prefs via the right-click context menu to the default value.

please go to firefox > addons > extensions & remove any suspicious entries (toolbars, things that you have not installed intentionally, don't know what purpose they serve, etc). also go to the windows control panel / programs and remove all toolbars or potentially unwanted software from there and run a full scan of your system with the security software that you have in place and different other tools like the free version of malwarebytes & adwcleaner.

Actually this search engine is normally installed with other software that you download. Use a good uninstaller to remove those software and scan the registry and hard-disk for any remaining files (advanced system care uninstaller does both) and delete them.

After that, make sure the browser startup in about:config is set to your default homepage.

Finally, remove all shortcuts of Mozilla Firefox manually and recreate them. This last step is essential to ensure you don't land up on this site on startup. To check simply view the target file of the shortcut in it's properties. It should be just firefox.exe and not have any url next to it.

Go Through your addon list and uninstall stuff you do not need (like wildtangent, etc). Scan your PC with anti-malware program. Then go to about:config and reset all values that reference qvo6. If you do not scan with anti-malware, QVO6 settings might reset back.
