Have you entered their email completly? something like:

example@foo.com

If you're sure you're doing everything right, contact your email provider and ask them for support.

With every email / webmail service I have used since 1998, comma was never an allowed character - a period, yes with many service providers- but never a comma.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.

If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". Seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
