My PC says I have the lastest Firefox version but it's only 17, and I see 20 is out now, is my update functioning correctly? XP SP3
Please see my simple question above.

You are using Firefox 17ESR, which is meant for large enterprises with their own IT staff. Download Firefox 20.0.1 from www.getfirefox.com and install it over Firefox.
Thanks Tylerdowner. I wonder how I downloaded the ESR version anyway. Can Firefox Downloads detect my LAN or the fact that I run a one person business from my PC? Or did I check the wrong box somewhere? Just curious. The ESR version is probably way more firepower than I need. Be that as it may, could you clarify what you mean by "install it over Firefox"? Meaning just download and install 20 and don't worry about uninstalling 17?
No, you most likely downloaded Firefox from somewhere other than getfirefox.com, and installed the ESR version mistakenly (or someone else installed Firefox on your machine for you and made the mistake). ESR is not recommended for home users because it doesn't receive stability updates, only critical security updates, plus we don't offer support for it. And yes, just download Firefox 20, install it, and don't uninstall Firefox before installing 20.
thanks I'm up to date now with Firefox 20.
