meeting invitations go straight to my outlook calendar without appearing in my inbox when using webmail. Works fine in explorer

I use outlook webmail to access my work email. When someone sends me a meeting request I do not receive it; it bypasses my inbox and goes straight to my calendar. This works fine in internet explorer by the way, but I prefer to use Firefox. I recently upgraded to a new laptop but I had the same pro blem with my last laptop so I do not think it is an issue with my computer.
