This just started happening recently....but can someone tell me why my add-on appearance automatically keeps going to Firefox default after the computer has been off for sometime or when the laptop lid has been closed for a few hours?

Firefox 19.0.2 Windows 8 Sky Pilot 7.0.25.09.11, automatic updates are on and it was last updated Jan 11, 2013 Thanks for the help...

Can you attach a screenshot?

Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot.

Which security software (firewall, anti-virus) do you have?

If you do not keep changes after a restart then see:

You can check for problems with the localstore.rdf file.

I’ve been using Firefox for a few years now and this is the first time this has happened.

Norton Internet Security has been on the computer since I purchased it last Sept., and nothing has been installed new in some time. Last thing would have been Windows 8 in Jan.

Thanks for the help…

Which customization changes do you make and that aren't kept?

I set the add-on appearance to Sky Pilot and it switches over to Firefox default appearance (by itself) after I turn off Firefox and the computer or close the lid. A flaw in the software is making it change to Firefox default appearance. One should not have to reset the appearance of your browser every time you start it up. At least I’m not used to doing that, and I’ve been using browsers since the mid 1990’s.
