new downloads are causing a continuous scrolling effect. presently have 12.0 and does not have that issue. have a brain injury and can't have that fast scrolling every time new updates arrive they seems to cause a scrolling page affect. I need a rolling page where I am in control of how it moves. I am concerned that if I don't keep updates current that the security of the computer will be compromised. Thank you P.

Where do you get that scrolling?

Is that in a browser window or in the download manager window or otherwise?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Please update as soon as possible to the current release if you have downgraded because of this issue.

If there is a problem with scrolling on web pages then try to disable smooth scrolling.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General: Browsing: "Use smooth scrolling"
