At 2.30 this morning certain web pages expanded so that some parts of them became unreachable. At the same time, the scroll wheel began to zoom just the visible part of the page in and out instead of scrolling up and down. THe second problem stopped after a few minutes, but the first is still evident. It is most commonly found with google products. The pages still appear correctly in IE9

hello outcrier, does it work when you hit ctrl+0 ('zero') on that page in order to reset the zoom level?

Hi Madperson

I just got similar advice from somebody else. I've reset the zooms and everything appears OK now. Seems it might have been a faulty keyboard activating Ctrl of its own accord. Many thanks for your time.

Extensions that do not work properly can also cause Firefox to miss the release of the Ctrl button.
Usually it helps to press down and release those status keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt) a few times to make Firefox recognize the current state once again.

Thank you, Cor-el. I'll bear that in mind.
