Quicktime and VLC plugins cause annoying BEEPS

Both of these plugins cause an annoying and repeating beeping sound when I visit a certain web page. When both are disabled, the problem goes away. If I enable just one, the problem returns. I tried uninstalling both and reinstalled just one a a time and there was still beeping.

Please help!

Hi,

It could be because the page has that media type inside it and is activated when visiting. You can try to set plugins.click_to_play to true in about:config.
