GPU Spikes uncrontrolably

I currently use a Geforce GTX 560ti (01G-P3-1460-KR). The problem is if I do anything such as scrolling or any page loading, even editing/designing webpage with firebug, the gpu spikes intensively.

Now before anyone gets assumptions or "idea's", you should know I am a specialist with computers, meaning my computer is optimized down to the very "bone". I as well have aero turned off (custom theme), "gfx.direct2d.disabled -true" set true and the "GPU acceleration" is off. I am sure this is a driver issue or a program issue itself due to I have 4 other browsers and they behave, properly.

To be specific, I idle at 35c°-36c°, with intensive Directx10/11 game play, I get it up to 45 if that. I know this because I use EVGA precision and have for sometime now, before this GPU even. Now when I do anything pretty much with Firefox, it just spikes like *****. Load a webpage, scroll a webpage, edit a webpage, anything that would trigger a spike, does and seems to not have a leach on it when it does and just takes off.

Problems with scrolling can be caused by smooth scrolling that has been enabled by default in Firefox 13.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General: Browsing: "Use smooth scrolling"

Ok, as I mentioned, even if I use extensions such as firebug, anything that would cause a spike does and it does with no control over the gpu. You really think this is a smooth scrolling issue? I laugh.

Then just only disable hardware acceleration.
That should stop Firefox from using the GPU altogether.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

It makes a difference but then the pages seem greatly slower, I am assuming this is a nvidia driver issues being when it is allowed to use it, it uses to much? Perhaps it is a mozilla firefox issues as well with the gpu acceleration allowance that needs to be some how modified so it doesn't use nearly as much as it does?

This didn't really solve it being that with it off, makes the page browsing seem, laggy, so it does or should be on especially with the card I have. Unfortunately I am assuming this is a bug being that it just down right should not be using as much as it is. My guess is it is an nvidia driver issue, I as well have posted on their forums as well bugzilla.
