I am using FF 14.0 on a Mac OS Lion.

When running a video, like this one

http://www.engadget.com/2012/06/24/sony-xperia-ion-review/

and changing to another tab, the video halts/pauses. When I go back to the tab (=make it active again) the video continiues.

This is the case regardless if the video is fully buffered or not.

It did not use to behave like that. It does not behave like that with other browsers. Is it a feature or a bug? To me its a bug. How can I disable that behavior.

Maybe there is some script running that detects a focus change.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
