I do not get all the graphics like I do with other computers with this new version of FireFox on my Notebook comuper. They are "washed out" with missing graphics and text on all the webpages I get on it.

How can I get what I used to or like my other computers for display when using FireFox? It has always worked just fine till I went to version 10 and something happened that I cannot duplicate on my desktop computers. Besides the tasks of getting all my goodies working like Billeo, the notebook is now so difficult to navigate in FireFox due to missing graphics and text. Example, I cannot easily use my gmail on it. I use chrome for most all my google accounts but occasionally I access my gmail there but it is so strange looking, I give up using it for that and other frequently visited sites with FireFox, , which has some tools I really like when it was working properly.

Chosen solution

Make sure that you allow pages to choose their colors and that you haven't enabled High Contrast in the Accessibility settings.

  • Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.

  • Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
  • Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
  • Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
  • Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).

If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "Block Images from..." then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

Make sure that you do not block third-party images, the permissions.default.images pref should be 1.

There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

Does the issue still occur if you start Firefox in Safe Mode? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode

If so, please attach a screenshot of what you are seeing

The first suggestion worked!!!! It was my fault. I did not recall changing that check mark but I was trying to get the sites I had visited to change color on the search list so that i could better see which ones I had visited in a bolder different color, which never did work by the way. I got busy and did not notice the later, more obvious problem with the graphics and loss of information displayed till I tried to look at a gmail account and noticed the totally different display without information I had been used to seeing. It was such a shock and I did not recall the change I had made that screwed it up. Thank you so much!!!!!! Nice to get it to work again!!!

Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Colors : [X] "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above" worked for me. I am also glad to see that I can add an image below. I do not recall that feature when I posted my original request for solution. Thanks for your reply!!!!
