When Firefox initially opens, it opens to the Mozilla home page (good!), but when I open new tabs, they open to the Yahoo search page which I hate! How do i restore this setting so that all tabs open either to the google page or the Firefox home page?

This is a setting that sometimes gets changed - it happens on a computer that several different people use each day for work activities.

Firefox can only open a blank tab (until the new tab feature is release, anyways) about:blank as a new tab.

There must be an extension installed that is doing it. Try disabling your extensions 1 by 1 and see if you can find the culprit.

Thanks for the information! I followed your advice, but it didn't solve the problem. Yahoo is still opening in new tabs. Any other ideas?

Does the issue still occur with a new, empty profile? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Basic%20Troubleshooting#w_8-make-a-new-profile

If not, then post the contents of about:support from the 'bad' profile

That issue can be caused by the Freeze.com NetAssistant extension

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
